Paramedicine - Evening Option Certificate

Division of Health Sciences

Spring Semester Start

Paramedics provide the most advanced level of prehospital emergency patient care for critically ill and injured patients who access the emergency medical system.  A Paramedic possesses the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide compassionate, comprehensive advanced patient care in dynamic and often stressful environments.

The MassBay Paramedicine program prepares students to become members of the health care team and function as leaders in prehospital emergency care as paramedics.  The program provides students with knowledge, skills and clinical decision-making skills to manage patients of all ages with acute and critical illness.

MassBay’s EMT Paramedicine Programs are accredited by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health: Office of Emergency Medical Services.  The Paramedicine Program has been issued a Letter of Review from the Commission on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) and is pursuing full accreditation from CAAHEP.

On campus classes and clinical rotations are primarily scheduled in the evenings; however, some rotations are only available during the daytime hours. Upon successful completion, a Certificate in Paramedicine will be awarded.

By completing this program, the EMT Certificate, and 30 liberal arts and sciences courses, a student may earn an Associate of Science in Paramedicine.
