LA 200 MEDIA AND THE LAW
The course covers important aspects of the law pertaining to media as a form of communication. Topics include privacy, obscenity, and copyright. Sources of law and legal reasoning will be emphasized. The course should enhance students’ understanding of the U.S. legal system and consitutional laws affecting communication. The course will also help students recognize the legal issues that can occur in professional and personal communication and help them avoid legal pitfalls when communicating through and within media.
